FAQ
1What is RIFTSTORM?
RIFTSTORM is a co-op PvE action game set in the Mythic Protocol universe.
You play as a Weaver, an elite operative trained to investigate rift incidents, contain Mythic threats, recover weapons and resources, and extract before the mission turns against you. The game combines co-op combat, loot, roguelite-style in-mission power-ups, and extraction-lite tension without trying to become a hardcore extraction sim.
2When is RIFTSTORM releasing?
RIFTSTORM is planned to enter Early Access on August 11, 2026.
As with any game in active development, timing may still shift if we need more time for stability, certification, or major fixes, but this is the launch window we are building toward.
3What platforms will RIFTSTORM be available on?
RIFTSTORM is currently planned for **Steam Early Access on PC**.
We would love to bring RIFTSTORM to more platforms in the future, but we do not have additional platform announcements to share yet.
4How many players does co-op support?
RIFTSTORM supports up to three-player online co-op and can be played solo.
Players can squad up with friends or use matchmaking and lobby systems to deploy into missions together.
5What are Weavers?
Weavers are the playable operatives of the Mythic Protocol.
Each Weaver has their own abilities, playstyle, role, and connection to the wider organization. At the start of Early Access, players will be able to deploy with five playable Weavers: Rook, Starling, Hertz, Botsy, and Caracal.
Additional Weavers are planned during Early Access.
6What are Lythograms?
Lythograms are in-mission power-ups that change how your run develops.
Some strengthen your attacks, some change how your abilities behave, some reward specific combat habits, and some push your build into situations the Protocol may investigate further. They are a major part of RIFTSTORM's replayability, and we expect to keep tuning them throughout Early Access.
7What is Collaborative Entertainment?
Collaborative Entertainment is Confiction Labs' broader vision for building original worlds with the community over time.
For RIFTSTORM, that means player feedback, community events, post-launch narrative progression, creator collaboration, and world updates that can help shape the larger Mythic Protocol universe.
In the past three years, we’ve experimented with event-to-media events around “flashpoint” decisions during our playtests.
