The wait is over, our RIFTSTORM Alpha Playtest is now live, and you can try the game for free from 16 - 30 October, 2024 (PT).
After two playtests and two years in production, RIFTSTORM is now officially in Alpha, and we owe a massive thanks to all of you who have been testing the game with us.
Peer into the Darkness
This Alpha version of the game aims to address one of your biggest concerns from our previous playtests: thematic immersion. A lot of you loved our game, but didn't quite get what your role is in our world or what the Mythic Protocol is. This time around, we've reworked our tutorial system to throw players into the deep dark underbelly of the secretive organization.
New environments, new weapons, new systems
We've also implemented our overhauled Dungeon System 2.0, that allows for greater map design flexibility and more interactive actions in our maps, alongside our updated Loot and Crafting systems in the game. Based on your feedback, we've expanded the armory inventory and provided universal access to it across all characters. We hope that these changes help to improve the loot grind and allow you to refine your builds with your idea weapons for each character.
Get competitive
By popular demand, leaderboards are also back in this playtest though we are focusing the challenges a bit more this time around. If you're the competitive type, we will be hosting timed-runs for the leaderboard and endurance runs for the Challenge Tower.
